The Truth about 1991:

Robin’s series came out in 1993 but 1991 was the first appearance of Robin’s own title. In 1991 it was a miniseries and would spawn 2 more miniseries and the ongoing 183 issue series I wrote about.

Now for 2 Truths/1 Lie. The year is 1992:

  • Batman The Animated Series premiered as well as a tie-in comic book series based in the same world. The TV series would last for a total of 109 episodes and the comic titled The Batman Adventures would last 36 issues before being reborn under a different title.
  • Guy Gardner got his chance to shine in Green Lantern: Mosaic. The first issue saw Gardner presiding over Oa. The planet was divided into sections, each with a different race, atmosphere, and gravity. Although the title had many possibilities, it was short-lived and only lasted 18 issues.
  • DoomsDay made his debut. On page 22 of Superman: The Man of Steel #17, an issue where Superman took on a league of freak mutations, readers first saw their glimpse of Doomsday’s fist as it punched a wall.
